The Rosalie was built in 1889 by JW Hill, owner of the Eureka Springs Livery & Stables and the builder of Eureka Spring's phone system. At the time, JW was considered to be the wealthiest man in Eureka Springs. He declared his new home would be "the prettiest and fanciest home on The Boulevard", and it still is today.
The Rosalie is a stunning example of Eastlake and Steamboat Gothic architecture, and features extensive "gingerbread" elements. It has been featured in dozens of magazines, including Architectural Digest and Southern Living, and photos of The Rosalie are regularly used to promote Eureka Springs, a town filled with splendid Victorian homes.
The Rosalie was purchased by Charles and Lori Ragsdell in December 2007. The Rosalie is currently undergoing renovations, including new HVAC systems, new cedar roof, and interior & exterior repairs and painting. The Rosalie will be available for weddings and tours in Fall 2008.
