The Rosalie was built in 1889 by JW Hill, owner of the Eureka Springs Livery & Stables and the builder of Eureka Spring's phone system. At the time, JW was considered to be the wealthiest man in Eureka Springs. He declared his new home would be "the prettiest and fanciest home on The Boulavard", and it still is today.

The Rosalie is a stunning example of Eastlake and Steamboat Gothic architecture, and features extensive "gingerbread" elements. It has been featured in dozens of magazines, including Architectural Digest and Southern Living, and photos of The Rosalie are regularly used to promote Eureka Springs, a town fllled with splendid Victorian homes.

The Rosalie was purchased by Charles and Lori Ragsdell in December 2007. The Rosalie is currently undergoing renovations, including new HVAC systems, new cedar roof, and interior & exterior repairs and painting. The Rosalie is currently booking weddings, and will be open for tours by prior appointment in Spring 2009.
